James O’Kefee from Project Veritas just twittered that its Vimeo Account has been terminated. The reason? Violation against the Community Guidelines.
What are those guidelines? Quote: “You cannot upload videos that are hateful, defamatory, or discriminatory.”
This is outrageous. The Guidelines imply that you cannot mock, ridicule, and laugh at our rulers, let alone expose their crimes.
Project Veritas had just released a video in which it features a Google employee who blows the whistle on Google’s manipulation and meddling into the re-election 2020 of Donald Trump.
What is most important in this case is this: Many content creators, dissidents, and activists who get harassed and demonetized and banned on Youtube, also have Vimeo accounts. Just in case. They thought Vimeo might be the last safe haven.
This thought was delusional. In fact, Vimeo is censoring more than Google, with Guidelines like this.
James O’Keefe twittered this: “BEING EMBARRASSED BY LEGITIMATE INVESTIGATE JOURNALISM is not a “privacy violation.” And he is right. Vimeo doesn’t care. We are living in a digital dystopian censorship nightmare future already.
